Nuts may help with weight loss, despite their high calorie content, according to a recent scientific study published in the journal Nutrition Research Review.
The nutrition journal explained that in an analysis of seven studies on the effects of calorie-restricted diets, none of them had a negative effect on weight loss when nuts were part of the diet.
In 4 out of 7 studies, people who ate about 40 to 80 grams of nuts daily lost 1 to 7 kilograms more.
The magazine explained that nuts are rich in healthy unsaturated fatty acids, plant proteins, and dietary fiber, which promote feelings of fullness and play a role in reducing excess calorie intake.
Nuts are also linked to improved gut health, cardiovascular health, metabolism, and higher mental performance.
